Plan your trip to Divjaka
When to go, how to get there, where to stay, and what to expect at Divjaka-Karavasta National Park.
When to go
Spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October) are the sweet spot: warm enough for the lagoon, cool enough to walk the pine forest, and the bird life is at its richest. Summer is busiest along the beach; winter is quiet but pelican-watching peaks.
How to get there
Roughly 90 minutes by car from Tirana, or 45 minutes from Durrës. Buses to Divjakë town run from both, then a taxi or rental into the park itself (about 6 km).
Where to stay
A handful of small guesthouses and family-run hotels in Divjakë town and a few cabins inside the park. Listings and recommendations land here as we vet each one.
What to pack
Layered clothing, insect repellent (the lagoon edge has mosquitoes at dusk), binoculars if you care about the birds, and swim gear May through September.
